The whole world of K-Pop has literally been on the edge of its seat ever since (G)I-dle management company Cube Entertainment confirmed on 21 May that superstar member, Soyeon, is on the verge of releasing something new. Tantalisingly, further details have yet to be revealed, but the album is expected in June.

The artist's first release was “Jelly” in November 2017, which means that her starved fans have had to wait four long years between her solo releases. Soyeon had already attracted mountains of admiration through her unique rapping and singing talents even before she had her debut with (G)I-dle in 2018 through survival show 'Unpretty Rapstar 3' on Korean pay-TV channel Mnet in 2016.

Famed for her versatility in songwriting and producing, Soyeon has also been part of various collaborations, despite taking such an active role in the all the creative aspects of G(I)-dle. She has worked with American artists Jaira Burns and Madison Beer as part of the virtual girl group K/DA (she represented the character Akali from League of Legends), and she also featured on DJ Hyo's track "Dessert".

All Neverland (the official name for G(I)-dle fans), are excited about the release, but in light of another (G)I-dle member, Soo-jin, having recently been involved in allegations of bullying, some are worried that the group might eventually fall apart. To bring their fears into even sharper focus, another G(I)-dle member, Yuqi, is following in Soyeon footsteps by issuing her own solo album which has been called 'A Page'.
