Russia's GDP Grows by 2.1% in Annual Terms in January-July

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russia's GDP grew by 2.1% in January-July, but slowed to 5% in July in annual terms from 5.7% in June, the Economic Development Ministry said on Wednesday.

"In annual terms, GDP exceeded the level of last year by 5% year-on-year (from 5.7% year-on-year in June), and the level of two years ago by 0.8% (+0.3% in June). In general, the GDP grew by 2.1% year-on-year in January-July 2023," the ministry stated.
At the same time, the Russia's unemployment rate in July decreased to a new historic minimum of 3%, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported.

Meanwhile, real wages in Russia grew by 10.5% in annual terms in June, by 6.8% in the first half of the year, the agency added.
