"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, the leaders of the two countries discussed the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Palestine and the humanitarian crisis in the region," the presidency said.
Erdogan said that Turkiye is making every effort for reaching a deescalation of the situation in the region, the presidency emphasized.
"President Erdogan stressed during the talks that Turkiye will continue to make every effort to ensure calm in the region," Erdogan's office stressed.
The silence of Western countries led to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, Erdogan added.
