The jet crashed after taking off from an air base in Gunsan, the report said. It is not yet known whether the pilot survived, the report added.
Following a recent Osprey crash on November 29 that resulted in the death of eight US service members off the coast of Japan, the US Navy has suspended operations of all Osprey aircraft, as announced in a press statement.
According to preliminary findings of the investigation, a possible material failure may have led to the accident, although the underlying cause of the failure is unknown at this time, the release further explained.
