Russia, China Conduct Air Patrols Over Seas of Japan, East China

BEIJING (Sputnik) - Russian and Chinese pilots conducted their seventh joint air patrol over the Sea of Japan and East China Sea, the Chinese Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

"According to the annual cooperation plan between the armed forces of China and Russia, on December 14, the two sides organized and carried out the seventh joint strategic air patrol in the respective airspace of the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea," the ministry said in a statement.

Strategic missile carriers of the Russian Aerospace Forces and of the People's Liberation Army Air Force conducted joint air patrols in the Asia-Pacific region over the waters of the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"An air group consisting of Tu-95ms strategic missile carriers and H-6k strategic bombers carried out air patrols over the waters of the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea," the ministry said in a statement.
At certain stages of the route, strategic missile carriers were "accompanied by fighters of foreign states," the statement read.
