Two Syrian Soldiers Injured in Israel's Attack on Damascus Governorate

CAIRO (Sputnik) - Two Syrian servicemen have been injured in an Israeli attack on the Syrian capital governorate of Damascus, the Syrian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Israel attacked the neighborhood of Damascus, Syrian state broadcaster Al Akhbar reported.

"Tonight, approximately at 22:05 local time [20:05 GMT], the Israeli enemy launched an air aggression from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, striking positions in the governorate of Damascus. Our air defense systems reacted to enemy missiles and shot down several of them. As a result of the aggression, two soldiers were injured and some material damage was caused," the defense ministry stated.
