The death toll in a Ukrainian strike on an oil depot in Russia's Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) has risen to three, and the number of injured to eight, LPR head Leonid Pasechnik wrote on Telegram..
He added that firefighters had arrived at the scene.
"The main task now is to prevent the fire from spreading to the residential buildings. The information is being clarified. The assistance to those affected is under my personal control," the official also said.
“As in a recent attack on Luhansk, today’s attack on Rovenki was presumably carried out by American-made ATACMS missiles with cluster munitions,” Pasechnik wrote on Telegram.
He said residential buildings, agricultural equipment and civilian vehicles were damaged.
“Employees of the Emergencies Ministry and the republic's Investigative Committee are working on the spot. I am convinced this crime against civilians will not go unpunished! I am grateful to our firefighters for their selfless work,” Pasechnik said.
