Funeral Ceremony for Iran’s Late President, FM & Officials Killed in Copter Crash Underway in Tabriz

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has announced five days of mourning following the tragic deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi and key officials accompanying the president, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who perished in a helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan province last Sunday.

The funeral ceremony for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the senior officials is underway in Tabriz. Then the body of the deceased politician will be transported to his hometown of Mashhad for burial.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and other world leaders conveyed their condolences to the Iranian people, while several Muslim countries declared a day of mourning.
On Sunday, a helicopter carrying Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and other officials crashed in northwestern Iran. The rescue operation was complicated by thick fog, making search and rescue efforts challenging. Despite the tough weather conditions, the search for survivors continued throughout the night. By Monday morning, Tehran officials confirmed that Raisi and his delegation had died in the helicopter crash.
