Sputnik is live from Astana as Russian President Vladimir Putin is giving a press conference for Russian media marking the conclusion of his two-day visit to Kazakhstan.
On the first day, the Russian leader held high-level talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, focusing on deepening strategic partnership between the two countries.
The following day, Putin participated in a session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Security Council with leaders of the CIS countries, where several documents were signed.
The event was attended by other presidents of CSTO member states, including Belarus’ Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan’s Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan’s Sadyr Zhaparov, and Tajikistan’s Emomali Rahmon.
