On Tuesday, Carlson, without giving details, said that the Biden administration had been "trying to kill" Putin. However, Carlson did not provide details or any evidence for his claims, such as when and where this could have occurred, as well as other circumstances surrounding a potential assassination attempt.
"Tucker Carlson's claims must be thoroughly investigated, and Biden and [former US State Secretary Antony] Blinken must be brought to justice. We all need to realize that a fierce struggle is being waged against Russia. We all must understand the scale of the challenges and threats we face. This means that we need to feel our responsibility," Volodin said on Telegram.
He also underlined that there has not been any rebuttal to the claims from Biden or Blinken.
"Preparing an assassination attempt on Putin, even discussing it, is a crime. It is a grave threat to global security and a direct path to the beginning of a nuclear war," the speaker added.
He said that it should become grounds for investigation for all international institutions.
