As soon as a peace agreement is concluded, armed forces from those NATO countries that agreed to deploy troops will immediately appear in Ukraine, Rutte said speaking at the Ukrainian parliament.
On January 28, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also indicated that European troops could be deployed as part of security guarantees for Ukraine.
Not all NATO countries want to participate in the purchase of weapons for Ukraine from the United States, Rutte also said.
"I am absolutely confident that the money will be there, because we all know its crucial, we have now 2/3 of the Allies participating in the PURL [Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List] program. There is an issue of burden sharing and at the moment some allies are doing a lot, a lot of allies are doing something, a few are doing nothing, but most are now involved in PURL but we need a better burden sharing," Rutte told a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ukraine.
Rutte added that he intends to discuss with the countries of the bloc new supplies of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, despite the empty warehouses in Europe.
