Lavrov to Araghchi: US-Israeli Actions Undermine Int'l Law

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi discussed the developments in the Middle East over the phone, following the armed aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran, according to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The situation in the region, arising from the unprovoked armed aggression by the US and Israel against Iran, was discussed. It was emphasized that such actions undermine the basic norms of international law and lead to severe consequences for the entire Middle East. This position was clearly reaffirmed by Russia's representative at the UN Security Council meeting," the ministry's statement reads.
During the conversation, the ministers also prioritized measures aimed at ensuring the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure in Middle Eastern countries affected by the conflict.
