Gregory Clark is a British-Australian diplomat, journalist, professor and an Honorary President of the Tama Art University in Tokyo. Born in Cambridge, England, Gregory moved to Australia with his family, where he later joined the Australian Foreign Service. Between 1963 and 1965 he held the position of First Secretary at the Australian Embassy in Moscow. From 1969 to 1974 Mr Clark was the head of the Tokyo bureau for The Australian. Beginning in 1980, he regularly wrote for International Herald Tribune, Nikkei Business, Nikkei Weekly, Mainichi Daily, Toyo Keizai, Tokyo, and Business Today. Mr Clark currently writes a column for
The Japan Times. He is the author of eight books including 'The Japanese Tribe: Origins of a Nation’s Uniqueness', 'Understanding the Japanese', 'Why Doesn't Japanese Education Change?' amongst others. Mr Clark’s works can be viewed on his
