Has worked as a journalist for 26 years. Graduated from Istanbul University’s Department of Journalism. She began her career at Anadolu Agency. She worked as chief of the int'l news service at the newspaper Radikal for nearly 13 years. From 2010-2013, she worked as chief of int'l news at Habertürk TV. Karan, who has worked in many places, from Tunisia to Libya, Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria during the Arab Spring, continues to work in the field.
