Russian mobile operator VimpelCom may sell two tranches of Eurobonds worth up to $2 billion, a banking source said on Wednesday.
The Eurobond yield may amount to 437.5 basis points above mid-swaps, the source told RIA Novosti news agency.
The issue pricing will take place on Wednesday evening.
Barclays Capital, BNP Paribas, Citi and The Royal Bank of Scotland have been appointed lead-managers and book-runners.
The company will offer five- and 10-year dollar-denominated Eurobonds on the Irish Stock Exchange.
VimpelCom has said it planned to raise $6.5 billion to finance the acquisition of Wind Telecom, former Weather Investments, belonging to Egyptian tycoon Naguib Sawiris. The company plans to raise half of the sum in rubles. The remaining financing will be raised via a dollar-denominated bridge loan to be refinanced by a bond issue.
About $5 billion will be paid to Wind Telecom and to refinance debt of Orascom Telecom, a Wind subsidiary, which operates in Africa, Asia and Canada. Orascom's debt is to be repaid after the deal between VimpelCom and Wind is closed.
