The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Europe (EBRD) invested a record $2.9 billion in Russia last year, up 25 percent on the previous year, the bank said on Wednesday.
Russia retained first place for the amount of investment among states in which the EBRD operates. In 2011 Russia received 32 percent of all EBRD investment in the world. The bank has invested 20 billion euro since its inception in 1991.
