LONDON (Sputnik) – The United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Norway will create a joint, UK-led force of up to 10,000 troops to tackle common threats, the UK Defense Ministry said Monday.
The so-called Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) "will be a pool of high-readiness forces that can respond quickly to a range of issues, using combat power, conventional deterrence or humanitarian assistance," the ministry said in a statement.
The force's tasks could include measures "similar to that deployed to tackle the Ebola outbreak in West Africa."
