On 22 October, UK parliament approved the Brexit bill in principle but voted to have more time to scrutinise the divorce deal, prompting Boris Johnson to pause the legislation.
The British Parliament votes for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's proposal to hold early general elections on 12 December.
Johnson had to ask the European Union to extend Britain's exit deadline until the end of January 2020. Earlier in the day, the European Union agreed to grant the United Kingdom's request for a Brexit extension until 31 January instead of the 31 October deadline.
