Russian opposition figurehead Alexei Navalny is facing a number of fraud and embezzlement charges, the most serious of which could see him jailed for up to ten years. He says the charges are revenge for his often acerbic criticism of Russia’s top officials and allegations of high-level graft. The Kremlin says the charges are not politically motivated.
