Moldova's presidential winner Igor Dodon will pay his first state visit to Moscow, Russia in his new office, Dodon's campaign chair Ion Ceban said Monday.

CHISINAU (Sputnik) — President-elect Dodon of the Socialist Party announced his second-round victory earlier in the day. Moldova's Central Election Commission places his lead at 52.27 percent with 99.95 percent of the votes counted.

"As president of Moldova, Igor Dodon's first official foreign visit will be made to Moscow," Ceban told RIA Novosti, clarifying that the visit would take place as soon as the legal hurdles to approve Dodon's candidacy are cleared.
