MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, media reported that the European Commission was likely to lead the negotiations and that the EU members were looking for ways to thwart UK attempts to exploit the divisions between the bloc members.

On Thursday, 28 EU heads of state are set to meet in Brussels, and after the departure of UK Prime Minister Theresa May from the talks, the remaining 27 leaders will discuss the framework for Brexit negotiations.
