PUSHKIN (St. Petersburg suburb), July 14 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin said Friday there would be no alternative to hydrocarbons in the world within the next half-century.
"Current energy development cannot meet the needs of a developing world without hydrocarbons, and in the next 50 years there will be no effective alternative to hydrocarbons in the world," he said at a junior world summit (J8) held prior to the G8 summit in St. Petersburg.
