Rapper Noize MC, who was jailed for ten days for mocking police, has publicly apologized for his actions, a police spokesperson said.
Ivan Alexeyev, aka Noize MC, was arrested at a concert in the south Russian city of Volgograd on July 31 after mocking the police with his song "Kuri Bambuk" about police brutality.
Police had attempted to stop his "posse" carrying out one of their stage routines, involving the throwing of small change at the group by the audience.
"The musician... has made his apologies to the members of police. We have accepted them," the spokesperson said.
Local TV showed Alexeyev rapping his apologies.
Noize MC is renowned for his song "Mercedes S-666" about a high-profile car incident involving Anatoly Barkov, vice-president of Russia's oil giant LUKoil.
Two doctors, Vera Sidelnikova and Olga Alexandrina, were killed on February 25 when their car collided with a Mercedes belonging to Barkov, who denied that either he or his driver were at fault.
