Russia's preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi are on schedule, with some 60 billion rubles due to be spent on them this year, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.
"In 2010, 29.7 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget, while 29.1 billion rubles will come from private sources," he told a International Olympic Committee (IOC) delegation.
The IOC Coordination Commission, headed by chairman Jean-Claude Killy, is visiting Sochi between April 13 and 15 to see the progress made by the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee.
"On the whole, the work is progressing on schedule. We are discharging the planned financial resources in full and there are no delays," Putin said during a linkup with Sochi.
He also assured the IOC delegation that all their remarks and comments on the preparations for the Games would be taken into account.
This is the third visit of the IOC Coordination Commission to Sochi, with the previous one in May of 2009.
The Russian resort city on the Black Sea won the right to host the Olympics at an IOC session in Guatemala in July 2007 after a close race with South Korea's Pyeongchang and Austria's Salzburg.
Russia has never staged the Winter Olympics and Moscow's hosting of the 1980 Summer Games was marred by a U.S.-led boycott involving more than 60 countries.
