A bout between WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and challenger Alexander Povetkin has been called off due to a disagreement over terms, Povetkin's manager said on Friday.
Vladimir Khryunov said Povetkin, 30, disagreed with the terms offered by Klitschko's team for the fight, which was to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, on September 11.
"In total, there were 12 disagreements, and they were insurmountable," he said.
One stumbling point was Klitschko's unwillingness to provide insurance for the fight.
However, Khryunov said Klitschko and Povetkin may still face off before the year is out.
Klitschko and Povetkin arranged to fight in 2008, but the bout was called off after the Russian suffered an ankle injury.
