A group of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s bodyguards had a heated exchange – complete with a brief shoving match – with South African security personnel during this week’s BRICS summit in Durban.
The video depicting the scuffle seems to have been shot soon after Putin entered the building with other members of the national delegation, including Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, on Tuesday, ahead of bilateral talks with South African President Jacob Zuma.
In the video, after the South African security guards tell the men to get “Out! Out!”, one of them responds, in Russian, “What d’you mean, ‘out’?”
Seconds later, after a bit more shoving, the group can be seen leaving the building.
Peskov said the incident was the South Africans’ fault and complained that the summit was not sufficiently well-organized, with “a lot of confusion,” Voice of Russia radio reported on its website.
