The leaders of Russia, Germany and France held a trilateral meeting on Sunday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Toronto, a source in the Russian delegation said.
President Dmitry Medvedev met with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Chancellor Angela Merkel, the source told reporters.
"The leaders discussed joint approaches to issues addressed at the G20 summit and agreed to continue consultations in a trilateral fashion," he said.
Russian presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich earlier said that the summit would involve discussions on the global economic situation, reform of international financial institutions and structures, as well as agreements in various other areas, including trade and climate issues.
