A Ukrainian opposition party, the Front of Changes, has launched a long-term campaign called Ukraine without Yanukovych, party leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Wednesday.
Yatsenyuk, a former parliament speaker and leading opposition figure, urged all Ukrainians to take part in the campaign and put their signatures on Ukraine without Yanukovych leaflets.
“Say ‘No!’ to the president,” he said.
He also urged all Ukrainian opposition parties to join in.
All the signed leaflets will be sent to the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
The move follows a Ukrainian court’s guilty verdict for former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on abuse of office charges. On Tuesday, she was handed a seven-year prison sentence for signing a 2009 gas deal with Russia.
