Ten people were killed and more than 60 were injured on Monday morning in a suicide bombing in the eastern Afghan city of Khost, Khaama Press reported.
A joint NATO-Afghan military convoy moving through the area - the apparent target of the attack - suffered a number of casualties.
The explosion went off at 8:30 a.m. local time about 100 meters from the Governor’s office and a city park, killing the commander of a National Police Rapid Reaction unit and several American soldiers were killed, an Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman said.
The Afghan Health Ministry said 10 people were killed and more than 60 were injured. An ISAF spokesman said three NATO soldiers died and several others were injured in the attack.
