17:21 GMT 09.11.2020 (Updated: 17:47 GMT 09.11.2020) Earlier in the day, a Russian Mi-24 helicopter was downed in Armenian airspace near the village of Yeraskh. As a result, two crew members were killed and one was evacuated with moderate injuries. Azerbaijan later admitted that it shot down the helicopter.
The Armenian Emergency Service has shared photos from the crash site of the Russian Mi-24 downed by Azerbaijani forces.
In the pictures, the emergency service is seen battling the flames that engulfed the helicopter wreckage.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry said that an Mi-24 helicopter had crashed in Armenia near the village of Yeraskh after being fired at from the ground by a man-portable air defence system (MANPAD). As a result of the helicopter crash, two crew members were killed and one was evacuated with moderate injuries.
Later, Azerbaijan admitted that it had accidentally downed the helicopter and offered to pay compensation to the Russian side.
