FOREIGN OBSERVERS TO MONITOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN GEORGIA

TBILISI, January 2 (RIA Novosti) - Approximately 130 observers from the CIS countries will be monitoring presidential elections in Georgia, scheduled to be held on January 4th, the Georgian Central Election Commission disclosed to Information Agency "Novosti/Georgia".

A group of Russian observers, headed by CIS Executive Secretary Yuri Yarov, will be the biggest one in comparison with other delegations from the CIS countries.

The total number of observers from the CIS countries will be finally determined at the meeting of Yuri Yarov with Chairman of the Georgian Central Election Commission Zurab Chiaberashvili on January 3rd in Tbilisi.

All in all, approximately 600 observers will be monitoring the presidential elections in Georgia on January 4th, the Georgian Central Election Commission reported. Out of this number 430 observers will be sent by the OSCE.
