MOSCOW, January 5th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Oil export duties in Russia can be raised up to $33.8-33.9 per ton on February 1st, said a source in the government commission for protective foreign trade measures and customs tariff policy.
At present, oil export duties stand at $31.2 per ton.
According to the source, the new tariff is to be established proceeding from the monitoring of oil price dynamics in November-December 2003. The commission will adopt a final decision in the near future to be followed by a relevant government regulation.
