"Insignificant wrongdoings were registered during the elections, only due to incompetence of the commission members, but these violations failed to influence the outcome of the elections," Yuri Yarov told journalists at a press conference in Tbilisi on Monday.
In his words, "the elections in Georgia took place at a high level but the legal aspect of the election legislation still has to be upgraded.
According to other CIS observers, the Adzharian population took part in the elections despite certain appeals not to do so.
Abkhazian people, too, cast their votes for the future president of Georgia in neighbouring Zugdidi. Residents of South Ossetia participated in the elections as well," a member of the CIS monitoring group told journalists.
(Abkhazia and South Ossetia are self-proclaimed republics on Georgian territory.)
