MOSCOW, January 7 /RIA Novosti/ - The Russian Foreign Ministry is not planning any meetings with Georgian foreign minister Tedo Dzhaparidze who has arrived in Moscow on a one-day private visit. As a representative of the department of the press and information stressed, the foreign minister "is staying in Moscow on a private visit."

The other day Dzhaparidze told journalists in Tbilisi that his visit would focus on the issue of determining the date of the withdrawal of Russian military bases from the territory of Georgia. The Georgian foreign minister intended to discuss this issue with the heads of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

In the minister's opinion, under the previous Georgian leadership the dialogue with the Russian side about military bases "was slow and inertial." The incumbent leadership of Georgia "intends to intensify this issue," Dzhaparidze said.

There are three Russian military bases in Georgia.
