The businessman admitted that he had transferred 1,200,000 litas to Paksas' election account. After his victory, Paksas granted Borisov Lithuanian citizenship by way of exception. However, later, the Constitutional Court regarded this action as a violation of the Lithuanian legislation. Two days ago, Borisov received an official notice that his residence permit in the republic had been annulled.
"I have nowhere to go. My house, my family, my team and my associates are here. I shall never abandon them," said the Russian businessman. He is convinced that the campaign against him is purely political and that it has been initiated by the Lithuanian opposition.
The scandal connected with the President and his Russian supporter has been going on in Lithuania for more than two months. Not long ago, a special commission has been set up in the country to consider the question of the possible impeachment of the incumbent President.
