RIYADH, January 17, 2004. /RIA Novosti/ -- On Saturday Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov met with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal in capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. Chechen President is on the official visit to Saudi Arabia.
Speaking about the situation in Chechnya, the Chechen leader said that the people in this Russian republic could not be blamed for what had happened. It was due to the global politics and the parties interested in weakening Russia on the whole, were responsible for the situation, he noted.
Kadyrov reminded that Chechnya is inhabited by Moslems, who strictly follow all directions of the Koran and observe all rites.
The Chechen President noted on the high level of Saudi Arabian development and said that any form of assistance and support on behalf of Saudi Arabia would be accepted by Chechen people with great gratitude. At the same time, he stressed that Chechen people need moral support.
