RUSSIA GDP GREW BY 7% IN 2003

MOSCOW, January 21st, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Last year, Russia's GDP increased by 7%, Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said on Wednesday.

These are preliminary results that the ministry calculated together with the State Statistics Committee. "The final results will be announced in the next few weeks," the minister said at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

"This figure is most likely to remain approximately the same," Gref suggested.
