Representative of creative intelligentsia and business circles belonging to different waves of Russian emigration gathered at a roundtable organized by the Russian Cultural Center.
In spite of former contradictions, all these people want to help their historic motherland. In particular, they are concerned about the decrease of interest in the Russian language in France.
In addition, they considered the propaganda of Russian culture, the preservation of Orthodox traditions and assistance to compatriots living abroad as a result of the Soviet Union's collapse. The condition of the Russian-speaking population in the Baltic States and Crimea arouses their special concern.
Summing up the meeting, Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Eleonora Mitrofanova said that one of the main tasks of the Foreign Ministry is to form a concept of the attitude of the Russian diaspora abroad.
