RUSSIA DEPUTY FM AND U.S. UNDERSECRETARY OF STATE DISCUSS NUCLEAR NONPROLIFERATION

MOSCOW, JANUARY 29 (RIA NOVOSTI) - At a meeting in Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak and the American Undersecretary of State, John Bolton talked nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Our interest in preventing the weapons of mass destruction and their delivery means from getting into third hands was touched upon at the Moscow talks, John Bolton told journalists.

Bolton said that international security was also in discussion. We considered a range of matters of international security, as well as bilateral relations between Russia and the United States, he said.

As to his position on Iran's nuclear program, the American undersecretary of state said they spoke of these matters, too. Particularly, we spoke of what's to be done at the next meeting of the IAEA board of governors with regard to Iran, Bolton said.

He added that during the talks they held consultations on the North Korean nuclear program. We spoke only a little about the North Korean situation, Bolton said.
