"We will try to elaborate on a mechanism for fixing low prices on bread for the unprotected segments of population in the federal law On the Development of Agriculture in the Russian Federation", Gordeev said.
The government is going to prepare the law by May, he said.
Gordeev explained that the administration of a federation entity is supposed to conclude an agreement with bakeries on fixed prices for certain kinds of bread. "One kind of rye and one of wheat bread are supposed to have fixed prices throughout the year. I think that in conditions of the market economy such an agreement can be concluded. It is crucial for people in the low-income bracket", said the vice-premier. He referred to the experience of the Kaluga region in the Central federal district, where the governor has already signed the agreement with all the bakeries.
