ALL-RUSSIA DOPING OPERATION COMPLETED

MOSCOW, February 5th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The Russian State Drug Control Committee has accomplished the All-Russia operation, Doping, to check enterprises involved in drug trafficking.

"During the operation, over 4,600 enterprises were checked. As a result, 196 criminal cases were instigated," spokesmen for the Drug Control Committee told RIA Novosti.

In all, about 28,000 enterprises using drug substances are registered in Russia.

"Nearly in every federation member, violations were discovered in equipment and security of the facilities where drugs and their components are used, and in accounting documents, prescriptions and elimination of drugs," the spokesmen noted.

One of the most typical violations is the unlicensed drug use.

The operation paid particular attention to illegal drug trafficking in the sports and veterinary activities.
