Latyshev and members of his delegation discussed the details of Japanese businessmen's visit to the Urals with Hiroshi Tsukamoto, the President of the Japan External Trade Organization /JETRO/.
They also held talks with Japanese Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications Taro Aso and summed up the results of their visit to Japan. A report on the talks will be submitted to Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
The visit resulted in the signing of a protocol between Uraltrak /the Chelyabinsk tractor plant/ and Komatsu /Japan/ on the assembling of Komatsu tractors in the Urals. An agreement on the testing and joint production of new locomotives was achieved by the proposal of the heads of the Sverdlovsk Railways. The idea to create the joint Eurasian Logistics Center on the Sverdlovsk Railways was approved, as well.
On Thursday the Ural delegation arrived in Kyoto, having major engineering enterprises. Russians are to meet with Japanese partners there on Friday, February 6.
After that, the Ural delegation will fly back to Yekaterinburg.
