MOSCOW, February 7 (RIA Novosti) - Overall agreements on the Caspian Sea delimitation should be based on bilateral treaties, Azeri President Ilkham Aliyev told a press conference following his official visit to Moscow.

"These bilateral treaties are based on the international law, the principle of justice and international practice," he said.

"Moscow's and Baku's positions on the Caspian Sea fully coincide. It means that political will can help resolve any problems," the Azeri President stressed. Russia and Azerbaijan had contradictions on this issue in the early 1990s, he recalled.

Ilkham Aliev came out for the demilitarization of the Caspian Sea and in the Caucasus on the whole. "The arms race on the Caspian Sea is beneficial to nobody. It is better to use this money on development," he said.
