Possibilities of international military-technical cooperation are being realized within the contract on India's purchase of a Russian heavy aircraft-carrier cruiser. The contract concluded on January 20, 2004 implies the use of western systems for the cruiser's modernization, Sevastyanov noted.
This is typical of the Russian concept of international cooperation in the military-technical sphere, he stressed. "This is already wider than common purchase and sale business and should be regarded as international cooperation," he said.
In his words, India's wish to install French thermal imaging equipment on Russian tanks T-90S keeps within this framework. Russia and India signed a contract on their licensed production.
