MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 11 (RIA Novosti) - There are not even the slightest opinion differences between Georgia and Russia, where the Chechen stretch of their frontier is concerned, President Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia said to a news conference tonight, while on visit to Moscow. Georgia and Russia share an enemy. That is terrorism. So there are no grounds whatever for such differences, he stressed.
Mr. Saakashvili does not rule out prospects for Russian and Georgian border guards together to patrol the problem-laden Chechen stretch. The two countries may eventually share frontier strong points and border guard governing agencies, he added.
Gangs and individual rebels will certainly start moving in the frontier area as the warm season comes in, warned the president. "If they want to have a rest in Georgia, we shall do everything it takes to prevent their penetration. They threaten not only my country's safety but the safety of every household," he resolutely said.
