"The special operation detained Mr. Iglovsky, a 38 year old man from the Tomsk region. In his Mercedes, a 21.3kg bag of heroin was discovered," RIA Novosti was told by the information department of UGNK.
Electronic scales for weighing and packing heroin were also discovered in the car.
According to the operational information, Mr. Iglovsky repeatedly brought narcotics into Moscow. He was one of the organizers of a large network of heroin smuggling into Moscow from former Soviet republics.
The information department of UGNK reported that since the beginning of the year, there have been 269 crimes connected with drug smuggling and more than a metric ton of narcotics and psychotropic substances, including approximately 30 kg of heroin, have been seized.
