Sergei Mironov stressed that "politicians should be liable to its people, to mothers of the dead and should always think ahead and not to be governed by some geopolitical ideas." In response to questions of journalists the head of the upper house of the parliament refuted the necessity to adopt in Russia a law on patriotism which existed in certain countries. He stressed the necessity to think about patriotic upbringing of the youth.
Sergei Mironov stated: "It is necessary for our young people to remember and know their history, the place where they were born, as it is done in Krasnogorsk. The most important is for young men and women to know their heroes, their ancestors, to know whom they are to be grateful for living on this land. Then they will understand that it depends on them to make Russia a great country so that both we and they be proud of."
