"To compete over the 10 days of the festival are 16 entries from virtually all the continents," said Lavrentyev.
The programme for competitors, he continued, contains such celebrated movies as the Danish love story "Reconstruction" and the new production "Anatomie de l'enfer" by the notorious French film-maker Catherine Breillat. As to hors de concours movies dedicated to love, these are classical ones about love.
Special screenings will premiere new world hits in Russia: Bernardo Bertolucci's "The Dreamers" and Tinto Brass' "Fallo!" The festival jury will be headed this year by Swedish actress Lena Andre, who was awarded in the best actress nomination at the previous festival.
The festival will be opened with Sergey Solovyov's "About love" based on Anton Chekhov's short stories "The doctor", "The boor" and "Volodya"
