He recalled that, within a week after confirmation of his approval, the prime minister will have to formulate his proposals on the cabinet makeup and complement. The head of the lower parliamentary chamber expects the new cabinet to take shape next week.
The concept is in line with the idea suggested by United Russia party, Gryzlov stressed. He expects the new cabinet to work more constructively and efficiently "fulfilling the ambitious goals set by the president, such as the doubling of the gross domestic product".
United Russia is ready to delegate its representatives to the posts of minister, the heads of departments and their deputies, Gryzlov said. He would not cite candidatures and only said ten representatives of the faction were meant.
Gryzlov also said that he liked would-be premier Mikhail Fradkov's proposal to appoint the State Duma first vice-speaker Alexander Zhukov as the first vice-premier.
