MOSCOW, March 10, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - According to the tempo of the industrial manufacturing growth, the Moscow region ranks 4th among the other Russian constituent members and ranks 1st in the Central Federal district of the country. This was disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent by Deputy Economy Minister of the Moscow Region authorities Tsyren-Dorzhi Tsagadayev.
According to him, the volume of the industrial manufacturing increased in the region over the last 4 years by 1.6 times and was estimated last year at 290 bln rubles (approximately $1 bln).
The most rapid growing in the region were the machine and metal-works industries, as well as construction materials and food industries. In 2000-2003 investments worth of 250 bln rubles were allocated for the development of the economy and social sphere in the region, including foreign investments worth of 2.6 bln rubles.
